Christchurch East School has two kapahaka groups, a younger and older group. Over the last four years we have grown and changed in numbers and performance opportunities. With financial help from the Christchurch East PTA the group has stunning uniforms that were design and created by staff and family members.

In 2012, Christchurch East gained a position to perform at the Christchurch Primary School Cultural Festival. This was a wonderful experience. The tamariki worked really hard and with the assistance of our kapahaka tutor Ana, they gave an outstanding performance. They were supported by so many whānau and the rest of the school.

In 2013, we have performed at Children's Day, in a school learning celebration and at an English School welcome. Later in the year we are performing at the Cultural Festival again.

Please see some performance photos in the media gallery. If you have any photo's from any performances, I would appreciate you sharing them with me. You can do this by bringing them to Room 7 on a disc or stick or by emailing carmen.aldridge@chcheast.school.nz
